As a touristic complement and in the scope of rural development policies and the requalification of the involving area of the Monastery of Pombeiro, the City Hall (through Adersousa) inaugurated a Rural Camping Park in Vila Fria which, besides having that monument as a reference, benefits from the existing cultural patrimony in its vicinity, namely the Roman bridge and pavement, integrated in the wider requalification project of this patrimony and area of the municipality.
Within the aim to provide locals and visitors alike with a facility destined to render spare times occupation possible, the Camping Park of Vila Fria/Felgueiras was created. This Camping Park is set in the village of Boavista, in Vila Fria. Its official inauguration was in August 8th, 1999. It has the capacity to lodge 30 tents, and asides from the basic infrastructures, a children's playground and several accesses to Vizela river. The autarchy had the sponsorship of the LEADER I Program to build this facility, allowing the adaptation of this 5.000 m2 land. However, the Camping Park of Vila Fria is currently to be part of a integrated tourist development project, which intends to endow the park with lodging, animation and sports facilities, as well as the requalification of all the involving area.
Integrated in a traditionally rural zone, the park is part of the specialized route guides since 2000.
