The promotion of the cultural and artistic life in Felgueiras has been one of the autarchy's priorities. The City Hall acquired the Fonseca Moreira Theatre building, the municipality's most famous show house, in 1997 so that it could be revitalized and recovered. The Theater was inaugurated in the second decade of the 19th century, and for decades it catered intensely to the local population's cultural and social life.
The City Hall of Felgueiras intends to turn this city landmark's cultural history into a lively space, where art and shows can be closer to the population, returning it to the cultural spotlight it was once under.
It is currently a cultural space for local promotion, mainly of its youths, having already a theater group (Theater Workshop Fonseca Moreira), street theater, shows for children and youths, dance and music shows...
